HOWLOWEEN 5K & DOG WALK

Join us for our 7th Annual Howloween 5K and Dog Walk set to take place on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at Parkside Place Park in North Wales, Pa. This event consists of a 5K and 1 mile dog walk. Four legged friends are welcome to attend all activities, making this event unlike any other in the area! This year's event will be in person and virtual (in case you're not ready to come back out just yet due to the ongoing pandemic or aren't local). We wish to keep this a safe and fun activity for everyone as we come together for the common goal of raising funds for Home at Last Dog Rescue. 

All proceeds from the 5K and Dog Walk will benefit Home at Last Dog Rescue. Home at Last Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a group of volunteers whose goal is to save the lives of homeless dogs suffering in high-kill shelters, as well as owner-surrender dogs who need to be re-homed due to unfortunate circumstances. We are not a shelter, and we have no central location for the dogs we rescue. We pull dogs from various shelters and provide foster homes until they are adopted. In doing so, we hope to provide an alternative to the purchase of puppy mill and pet store dogs, thereby reducing the demand for, and ultimately, the supply of, such dogs. We strive to match each dog with the right family after the dog has been observed in a foster home.HAL is a 100% volunteer organization. 100% of adoption fees go back into the rescue to cover shelter pull fees, vet care, supplies and various other expenses.

 In person 5K:

• 5K begins at 9AM
• Day of registration opens at 7:45am
• Register by 10/11 to be guaranteed our NEW Home at Last Dog Rescue storage tote bag
• Medals awarded to the top overall male/female runners, age groups (12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+) and the top 3 dogs who cross the finish line. 
• Chip timing provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Company 

In person 1 mile dog walk:

• Dog walk begins at 11AM
• Day of registration opens at 10am
• Add on option to be guaranteed our NEW Home at Last Dog Rescue storage tote bag if purchased by 10/11

Virtual Run - How this works:

• Run or walk your 5K anytime between October 1st-October 30th. You choose your course whether outside or on a treadmill.
• You time your own race using a phone or smartwatch
• Submit your race time on the runsignup platform by clicking on RESULTS, sign in to your account, click on “submit virtual results”.
• Home at Last Dog Rescue magnet will be mailed to you directly
• Please take photos or videos of your race and post on Facebook or Instagram using #Homeatlastdogrescue and #HALHowloween5K.
• Please note there are no medals awarded for virtual run participants

Day of registration for the 5K begins at 7:45am. Dog walk registration begins at 10am. Packet pickup day of event only.
